Turtles are great! But you really have to be careful of these snappers. We had one of these strolling across our lawn one day and heading toward the road, so I got a shovel to pick it up,( my intention was to put him back in the creek) But he grabbed ahold of the shovel and wouldn't let go! I am so glad I did not try to pick him up with my hands. Anyway, I just let him be, with the shovel still in his mouth. Later on, he was gone.
